I Feel Like Singing

I feel like singing the praises of Ford Motor Company…..Europeans have been singing the praises of the "new” Ford Fiesta for a couple years. Now is the time you can get attractive European styling at an “All American” low price with features of makes/models costing literally three times as much. It truly is time to celebrate Ford! Ford Motor Company is the only one who has car that can get up to 40 mpg with SYNC and have heated seats.  Safety - New safety features abound -- including a knee air bag that helps keep a driver properly positioned behind the steering wheel during a crash and it is standard.  Fuel Efficiency - The Ford Fiesta uses an efficient 4-cylinder gasoline engine that gets the best highway mileage rating of all gasoline powered, non hybrid cars in the country.  It gets even better gas mileage than 21 of the hybrids in the market today!  Features – Of course the Fiesta comes with Microsoft’s SYNC.  This feature offers voice activated ease from a variety of features from phone to climate. In addition, the SYNC system in the Fiesta features the ability to link a Blackberry for listening to music via Internet sites such as Pandora. While the fuel efficiency of the new Fiesta is one of a small car – the features of this automobile are NOT that of a small car.  With all that being said, we just want you come in and test drive one. They should be here any day. So give us a call (503-665-0101) and if you test drive the new Ford Fiesta, Gresham Ford we will give you a free oil change (up to a $29.95 value). No gimmick – we just want you to Drive One and you will see why Ford Motor Company is now recognized as the World Leader in product innovation!!

2011 Ford Mustang Powertrains are making Headlines

The legendary 5.0L is back — more efficient and more powerful than ever. Key features include: 412 horsepower (up from 315 in 2010), 390 lb.-ft. of torque (up from 325 in 2010), Twin independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT), Standard 6-speed manual transmission or optional 6-speed automatic with improved fuel economy 17 city/25 hwy. mpg automatic (up from 17/23 in 2010) & 16 city/24 hwy. mpg manual (same as 2010)

The all-aluminum Duratec® 3.7L V6 pumps up the power and is projected to achieve 305 horsepower and 30 mpg highway — no other vehicle in the industry can beat that combination.(2) 305 horsepower (up from
210 in 2010), 276 lb.-ft. of torque (up from 240 in 2010).  Twin independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT) provides an improvement in peak power and low-speed torque while also providing an improvement in fuel economy .  The Lightweight cast aluminum cylinder block helps provide durability and efficiency and the retuned air intake system helps minimize losses, but also produces a satisfying, aggressive growl on hard acceleration.

The new 3.7L 4V Mustang V6 is projected to have class-leading V6 fuel economy.(1) But that’s only half the story. The legendary “5.0” is back.  This new V8 serves up more horses than ever before, plus it has a
great fuel economy story to share.  Whether V6 or V8, the high-tech combination of pulse-pounding
horsepower and gas-sipping fuel economy are sure to surprise and delight every type of Mustang lover. Here, we’ll take a glimpse at both the new V6 and V8 engines as well as some new Mustang packages — each designed to further delight the Mustang enthusiast.

The 2011 Ford Mustang also boasts a cold-air induction system and dual exhaust help to enhance engine breathing, with a 7000‑rpm redline and almost instant response when the driver hits the gas, standard 6-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic transmission.  The new dual exhaust and improved fuel economy - 19 city/30 hwy. mpg with the automatic (up from 16/24 in 2010).  18 city/29 hwy. mpg with the
manual (up from 18/26 in 2010) is helping the 2011 Ford Mustang to turn heads more than ever.

Remember that Camaro and Challenger don’t offer a convertible model or a glass roof option but Mustang does!  Mustang also adds technology features in 2011 to make it even more appealing, such as the MyKeyTM programmable ignition key, which allows parents to limit vehicle top speed and audio volume for
safe driving. Additional new features include: Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), Standard Message Center, Blind spot exterior mirrors,  HD Radio now included in Electronics Package and so much more in the new 2011 Mustang.

Mustang has always offered up performance and styling accessories that allow customers to personalize their car in a way that lets them say, “That’s My Mustang!” For 2011, we have four new packages available at Gresham Ford - the Portland Metro home for the new 2011 Ford Mustang.  Gresham Ford is proud to be a President Awards Oregon Ford Dealer.  Here’s a look at the first-ever Mustang Club of America Special Edition for V6 models: Unique painted (Dark Stainless) billet grille with Tri-bar Pony badge, Front lower fascia-mounted fog lamps, Unique side tape stripe, Unique decklid tape appliqué (between taillamps), 18-inch Dark Stainless painted aluminum wheels, P235/50WR18 BSW all-season tires, Premium carpeted front floor mats with embroidered Pony logo, Automatic headlamps, and rear decklid spoiler.

The Easy Fuel capless fuel filler system is an industry-first feature that eliminates the gas cap.  The system offers a number of advantages including: Adding fuel is easier and quicker because there is no filler-neck cap,  Reduces the potential for increased evaporative emissions caused by driving with a missing or improperly installed cap, Prevents scuffs and scratches that result if the fuel cap is left hanging when fuel is added, Keeps hands cleaner because there’s no cap to fumble with.  Opening the fuel filler door gives access to the Easy Fuel filler, The filler neck accepts a standard size unleaded or Flex Fuel nozzle.  The fuel nozzle fits directly into the filler neck, opening a spring-loaded door to the tank.  A rubber seal on the fuel filler door presses around the fuel filler neck and seals the system when the door is closed.  To add fuel, simply open the fuel filler door, insert the fuel nozzle into the system to pushopen the spring-loaded flap and add fuel.   Removing the nozzle allows the flap to spring closed.

Gresham Ford supports the East County Home Show.

The economy still seems like the weather we get a little good news and then some not so great like the following: “Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in U.S. history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds. At the same time, government-provided benefits—from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs—rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010.”

This is not sustainable nationally – what can we do locally? Well locally we can “Try Local First” and create “private” paychecks for our neighbors and our families. There is no better time to see what local contractors, landscapers, etc. have to offer than to visit the First East County’s Home Show next Friday and Saturday (June 11th and 12th) at the Holiday Inn right here in Gresham at 2752 NE Hogan Drive. The hours for the show are Friday, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Tons of local effort has gone into planning this great event right here in our backyard. Thank you Andrea! Did I mention some of the proceeds will benefit My Father’s House the largest homeless shelter in the United States with no government support. Let’s work together to turn our economy around and that starts with visiting the FIRST East County’s Home Show!! Call 971-235-3120 for more information – maybe there is time for you to be a vendor!

See more details at their Facebook page.  Just another great example of business owners working hard to better our community.
